布达佩斯学派对自律的高雅艺术概念及其与大众文化的结构关系进行颠覆,在批判其宏大叙事的悖论的同时展开了艺术合法性概念的重构,在大众文化的积极性、高雅艺术的必然性的发掘中重新思考雅俗文化结构问题,这种结构既拥有大众接受的现实基础,又具备一种阐释性的意义价值。这些美学思想对深入研究后现代的大众文化以及第三世界的大众文化无疑是有启发的。
