The purpose of this article is to carefully examine and comment on some of the current popular views on social development in Latin America. First, someone said that “Latin American countries are dual social structures.” This view holds that Latin America exists in two different societies, feudalism and capitalism. However, as we all know, the development in some parts of Latin America is based on the provision of cheap labor in backward regions. The “ancient” region provided raw materials for urban centers and foreign countries. The developed regions in less developed countries drew on their development from the underdeveloped hinterland nutrient. Such situations are very common in underdeveloped countries.
