尊敬的王院长,各位领导,各位女士、先生:今天有机会在这个历史所建所60周年纪念会上说几句话,我感到十分荣幸,也是感慨万千。我想我是以双重身份在这里发言的,因为如大家所知,近十年以来,我已经不在历史所工作了(还有兼职研究员的名义),但我确实是长在历史所,学在历史所,从20岁起在历史所学习和工作了整50年。我本是清华大学的一名学生,1952年被调到科学院考古所工作,1953年底转来历史所,直至2003年8月调回清华,刚好是50年。这50年是我永远不能忘记的50年,也是我永远引以为荣的50年。
Dear President Wang, Ladies and Gentlemen, Ladies and gentlemen, I feel honored and filled with emotion today to have the opportunity to say a few words at the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of this historic building. I think I speak here in a dual capacity because, as you know, I am no longer working in history for the last ten years (there are also part-time fellows) but I really grew up in history and learned History, from the age of 20 in the history of study and work for 50 years. I was originally a Tsinghua University student who was transferred to the Institute of Archeology in 1952 and transferred to the Institute of History in late 1953. It was only 50 years after it was transferred back to Tsinghua University in August 2003. These 50 years are 50 years that I can never forget, and 50 years that I will always be proud of.
