The reason why the snow makes various sounds is rarely studied. It is generally assumed that this phenomenon is caused by the friction caused by the friction between the snow particles, or that the snow particles are redistributed when the snow is thick and the pressure is generated. The “squeaky” sound on snow is often different because of the difference in the severity of your foot on the snow. Experienced and careful people can tell whether a pedestrian is an old person or a child according to different sounds. It is a prime man or a young girl. The “sound” and “timbre” sometimes change with the temperature of the air. Generally, when the outdoor temperature is lower than -2°C, the sound can be clearly heard. The lower the temperature, the clearer and crisper the “tone”. Experienced old hunters can judge the temperature at that time based on the slight difference of snow“timbre”. Errors generally do not exceed ±2°C.
