婴儿痉挛症是婴幼儿癲痫的一种类型,发病率约为出生婴儿的1∶3,000~4,000。多于婴儿期起病,其临床表现特殊,90%患儿伴有智能或精神方面的严重障碍,对身体健康危害极大。自1841年West提出婴儿痉挛症是婴儿抽风独特一型以来,文献有许多关于本症的报导,Fere(1883)首次按病因分为症状性和原发性两组,Asal及Moro(1924)描述本症痉挛的特点有闪电、点头及鞠躬样3种形式,Gibbs于1952年将其典型的脑电图改变称为“高峰失律”,1958年Sole等首次报告了应用ACTH
Infantile spasms are a type of epilepsy in infants and young children with a prevalence of about 1: 3,000 to 4,000 births.
