“关系”一词具有鲜明的中国特色,在中国文化中占有一个相当重要的地位,因此有不少学者建议将其音译为guanxi以避免其文化内涵损失。本文对“关系”一词的英译进行再一番探讨,通过一系列具体翻译实例的详细分析,最终得出结论:在需要对中国式“关系”进行突出强调、或需要和其它文化的“关系”进行对比时,音译为guanxi最好,且该词在译文中第一次出现时,应予以相应的解释;而一般情况下,“关系”一词的翻译可以根据语境进行灵活处理,并不存在一个固定的译法。
“Relationship ” has a distinctive Chinese characteristic and occupies a very important position in Chinese culture. Therefore, many scholars suggest that it should be translated into guanxi to avoid loss of cultural connotation. This article explores the English translation of the word “relationship”.
