在区域经济范围里牧区是一个特殊的区域,其主要特点是天然草原面积比较大,以经营草原畜牧业为主,在我国主要集中在边疆少数民族地区。因此,牧区经济社会能否健康快速发展,不仅直接影响城乡之间、地区之间、区域之间的平衡协调发展,而且在生态和政治上都将产生深刻而长远的影响。社会主义新牧区建设,面临的困难比较多,国家和各级政府在加大资金投入的同时,还必须从牧区实际出发,在政策和制度等方面加大扶持力度,从而促使牧区经济又好又快发展。
