以Z-80为CPU的单板微计算机,如北京工业大学、上海长江计算机厂生产的TP-801,或上海计算机厂、厦门电子计算机厂生产的ZSS单板计算机等是目前国内销售量最大的机种。由于它具有用户程序的装入和执行、检查和调试以及保存和固化这三大类功能,硬件配置有2-4KRAM,2-6KEPROM,6位数码显示器以及Z-80CTC和Z-80PIO等基本接口器件,还有盒式磁带转录/转贮装置和EPROM编程装置,受到广大用户的欢迎。但它的主要缺点是只能用机器语言编制程序,并且没有编辑/汇编功能,更不用说用高级语言编程了,因此单板机的应用软件往往需要通过微计算机系统来加以开发。
