Objective To study the expression of nm23-H1 gene in bladder cancer and to explore its clinical significance. Methods The relationship between nm23-H1 gene expression and many indexes of bladder cancer was analyzed by immunohistochemical LSAB method. Results The positive rate of nm23-H1 gene in 56 cases of bladder cancer was 69.6%. The positive rates of nm23-H1 gene were 35.0%, 84.6% and 90.0% in high, medium and poorly differentiated carcinoma respectively. The high expression of nm23-H1 gene was related to the grade of bladder cancer and lymph node metastasis, but not to age, sex, tumor size and recurrence. Conclusion The nm23-H1 gene may play different roles in the formation and metastasis of bladder cancer, promote the occurrence of bladder cancer and inhibit the metastasis of cancer. Can be used as an indicator of malignancy, tumor progression and prognosis of bladder cancer.
