抗日战争时期,周恩来同志作为中共中央代表团,南方局和《新华日报》董事会的负责人,直接领导着《新华日报》和《群众》周刊的工作,长期战斗在龙潭虎穴般的复杂环境里。他把马列主义一般原理同当时大后方党的报刊工作实际相结合,不断探讨报刊宣传如何更好地为抗日战争服务的新路子,对党的报刊工作提出了许多独到的见解,重温周恩来抗战时期关于党的报刊工作的有关论述,对总结我党报刊工作经验,指导当前的新闻改革工作,具有强烈的现实意义和较高的理论价值。
