自检察机关恢复建院以来,乡镇检察室呈现了曲折发展的历史进程,尤以本世纪该制度进入恢复探索期以来,其设置的合法性、必要性、可行性、规范性和实效性等问题愈显突出,亟需探究。其职能定位回归于法律监督,其设置模式因地制宜而多元化,其职责任务的规范统一,是乡镇检察室今后一段时期发展的趋势。
