In the Shang Dynasty， there was a minister called Ji Zi going to visit Di Xin， who later became Emperor Zhou of Shang Dynasty， to report his works. He accidentally saw a change to Di Xin’s habit and was very surprised to see that.
Actually， Di Xin just began to use a pair of ivory chopsticks， which were thought to be very expensive and luxury then. But as a ruler of a country， it is quite normal for Di Xin to afford such luxury. The problem was that Di Xin was very simple and thrift when he was young. His beginning to embrace the luxury is what concerned Ji Zi the most.
Later on， Di Xin， who was better known as Emperor Zhou， became more luxurious and cruel. He created many methods to torture people and spent a lot in the projects for his personal pleasure. His cruelty and fatuousness finally led to the destruction of the Shang Dynasty.
