According to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong’s total exports of goods amounted to 1,560,517 Hong Kong Dollars in 2002, an increase of 5.4% over the same period of last year. Imported goods amounted to 1,619,419 million Hong Kong Dollars, an increase of 3.3% over the same period of last year. In 2002, the total value of re-exports of goods in Hong Kong was 1,429.590 billion Hong Kong dollars, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year. Of this total, the value of re-exports of textiles was HK $ 92.943 billion, an increase of 2.2 billion Hong Kong dollars or 2.5% over the same period of the previous year. The re-exports of clothing amounted to HK $ 109.912 billion, down 0.6% . For the month December 2002, the value of Hong Kong’s re-exports of goods was HK $ 124.190 billion, an increase of 20.7% over the same period of last year. Among them, the re-exports of textiles amounted to HK $ 7.448 billion in the month, an increase of 6.7% over the same period of last year;
