截止2001年10月底,湖南共有上市公司34家,全为A股上市公司,占深沪两市1043家上市公司的3.26％。全省34家上市公司总股本90亿股,平均2.65亿股,流通股36.62亿股,平均0.96亿股。从上市公司的资产规模来看,34家上市公司总资产规模最大的是华菱管线为54.19亿元,庆云发展最小仅1.89亿元,平均13.49亿元。在地区分布上,全省34家上市公司主要集中在长沙地区,共17家,占全省上市
