氮化硅陶瓷作为切削刀具材料,国内已有单位研制,并已日益在生产中使用。无压烧结氮化硅(Si_3N_4)是采用氮化硅粉末为原料加入镁铝尖晶石和稀土氧化物等添加剂,在常压下使氮化硅烧结而成。它具有高强度、高密度和价廉的特点.英国Lucas公司生产的无压烧结氮化硅(牌号101、201),其室温抗弯强度可达780~800MPa、硬度HRA91~92,对于普通铸铁,有色金属以及镍基合金的高速车、铣加工具有很大的优越性。
