栽培案头菊一般是在7月下旬至8月初扦插菊芽,经过90天的养护即可开花。由于案头菊生长周期比正常栽培的独本菊缩短20—30天,而株高只有20厘米,其花朵直径、叶片长宽度等均与1米左右的独本菊差不多,又小巧俊美,适宜单株观赏,因而更受到人们的喜爱。能否调正时间让案头菊提前开花呢?为参加1988年10月6日在北京召开的第2届中国城市市花展,我们做了试验,结果比正常栽培的案头菊提前一个月开花。1989年,为迎接第2届花卉博览会又控制案头菊开花期比正常花期
