“旋风”战斗机是为适应北约对付突发事件的“灵活反应”战略思想而研制的,主要用来代替F-4、F-104、“火神”、“堪培拉”、“掠夺者”等战斗机和轰炸机,执行截击、攻击等常规作战任务。该机由英国BAE公司、联邦德国MBB公司和意大利阿莱尼亚公司联合研制。
