The ancient town of Anyang was first built in A.D.398.It was expanded in the Jingde era of the Song Dynasty.The present setting resulted from the last modification in the fourteenth century, which maintained about half of the old town. In 1993, atiquity workers of the Anyang Municipality conducted a survey of the old town. It indicates that the old town was not only a regional political center of the Ming and Qing bines, it was also a town of residential function.The sheets of the old town maintains its original layout giving us a glance of the old atmosphere and style. It is one of the typical prefecture seats of the Ming and Qing times.
