Objective To investigate the effect of novel hepatitis B virus (TFV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) mixed infection on the pathological changes of liver and HBV replication. Methods The detection of serum TTVDNA in patients with hepatitis B by nested polymerase chain reaction and the detection results and clinical data were statistically analyzed. Results Of the 177 patients with chronic HBV infection, 32 cases were positive for TTVDNA, with a positive rate of 18.1%: 5/52 (9.6%) of asymptomatic carriers, 7/46 (15.2%) of chronic hepatitis and 9/39 (23.1%), and active cirrhosis 9/40 (22.5%). There was no significant difference among the groups. Among patients with chronic hepatitis, severe hepatitis and active cirrhosis, TTV-positive patients and TTV-negative patients Of the liver function and serum HBeAg positive rate was no significant difference; but HBV, TTV mixed infection of severe hepatitis mortality was higher, with statistical significance. Conclusions TTV mixed infection does not seem to affect HBV-induced liver lesions and their replication status, but may affect the prognosis of severe hepatitis.
