麦棉一体化可以解决粮棉争地的矛盾,并提高经济效益,是我省新兴的并正在大力提倡的一种种植制度。但是由于地理位置和作物生育特点的不同,不是任何地方都可以搞麦棉一体化。通过科研单位研究和生产实践证明,北半球麦棉一体化的安全区为北纬38度以南地区,38度以北农作物生长期短,积温不足,不适合搞麦棉一体化。所以北伟38度就是麦棉一体化的临界线,凡是38度线通过及其临近的地区即为临界区。我们盐山县位于北纬38度02分,属于麦棉一体化的临界区。我县从1989年开始推广麦棉一体化种植,开始成功率很低。究其原因,主要是地理位置所决定。但也有成功的典型。我县吉科乡西宋村2000亩植棉任务,麦棉一体化种植就达1500亩,平均亩产小麦350多公斤,棉花75公斤左右,其效益明显高于单季棉和小麦接种玉米的种植形式。我们通过调查研究,总结成功与失败的正反面经验,终于摸索出一套适合当地的麦棉一体化的规范措施——
