雷素生前是河南省巩义市初中一年级的学生,在10年前的那个血色黄昏,为了救一位穿越火车轨的86岁老人,13岁的她成为河南省最年轻的“革命烈士”。2001年,巩义市几位退休老人负债拍摄《少年英雄雷素》电视剧,并在北京钓鱼台国宾馆举行了首映式。从1988年扑救山林大火牺牲的14岁“英雄少年”赖宁到“革命烈士”雷素再到今年6月18日为救落水俩同学献出13岁生命的“巩义市舍己救人好少年”范乃方,3位小英雄跨越了3个时代,该不该在青少年中提倡见义勇为行为的讨论也延续至今。在号召全国各族少年向赖宁学习后,教育部就明确提出:严禁组织未成年人参与救灾,同时也不提倡未成年人救人。2007年8月份教育部出台文件,要求未成年人懂得在保证自身安全的前提下见义勇为。法律界人士认为,法律对未成年人见义勇为行为首先是肯定的。见义勇为时要注意保护自己,注意方式方法,这没有错,但是见义勇为这种精神不能丢!
