Objective To evaluate the influence of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium on the level of blood lipid in adults. Methods We searched Pubmed, EMbase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China Academic Journals online publication database, Wanfang medical database and Wipu Chinese scientific journals full-text database. The search period is from construction to January 2016. Inclusion criteria for the clinical use of Lactobacillus and (or) Bifidobacterium lipids to regulate clinical randomized controlled trials, subjects aged ≥ 18 years old, the literature Jadad score> 3 points. Meta-analysis was performed using Revman 5.3 software after extracting the data. Results A total of 11 articles were included, a total of 871 subjects. Meta analysis showed that Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium could significantly lower total serum cholesterol (WMD = -0.45 mmol / L, 95% CI: -0.63-0.27 mmol / L, P < 0.001) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (WMD = -0.42 mmol / L, 95% CI: -0.46-0.38 mmol / L, P <0.001). The difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium have a positive effect on blood cholesterol metabolism in adults.
