信息技术的发展和应用,已成为一个国家综合实力的象征。其中,巨型计算机的研制能力与应用水平是衡量一个国家高科技水平的重要体现,由于它对促进经济和科学技术发展越来越具有重要意义,已成为国际高科技竞争的前沿阵地。巨型计算机是目前运算速度最快、性能最高,技术最复杂的一类计算机,主要用于解决普通计算机难以解决的复杂计算,是解决科技领域中某些重大挑战性问题的关键工具。随着巨型计算机技术的发展和应用的深入,计算(数值模拟)方法已成为理论方法、实验方法之外的第三种科学研究方法。
The development and application of information technology has become a symbol of the comprehensive strength of a country. Among them, the development and application level of giant computers is an important manifestation of measuring a country’s high-tech level. As it becomes more and more important for economic and scientific and technological development, it has become a frontier position for international high-tech competition. At present, the giant computers are the most computationally fastest, highest performing, and most technologically sophisticated computers. They are mainly used to solve complicated computations that can not be solved by ordinary computers and are the key tools for solving some of the major challenges in the field of science and technology. With the development and application of giant computer technology, computational (numerical simulation) method has become the third scientific research method besides theoretical method and experimental method.
