Objective To understand the reasons for the loss of blood donors in this area and provide the basis for formulating recruitment strategies for this population. Methods In the blood information management system, the blood information management system software was used to exclude the unqualified factors of infectious disease detection in the surveyed subjects and the telephone survey was conducted on the donors who did not participate in the blood donation within the last three years. Results A total of 2 495 people were surveyed and 1 756 people were successfully surveyed. Traffic and time inconvenience accounted for 35.54% (624/1 756), physical discomfort accounted for 22.84% (401/1 756), forgotten blood donation accounted for 18.91% (332/1 756) respectively in the top three. 57.7% said they were willing to donate again. Among those who have the intention of re-donating blood, 68.8% and 67% of the 18-30-year-olds and 31-40-year-olds have the intention to re-donate their blood, 74.5%, 75% of whom are willing to donate blood again, 69.9%, 80.9% and 68.7% respectively of the willingness to donate blood with college degree or above. Conclusion The recruitment and recruitment of blood donors and blood donors should be focused on blood donors under the age of 40, and the higher the education level, the more likely they are to be recruited again.
