本田公司为了加强摩托赛车的竟争实力,最近推出一种用于NR摩托赛车的椭圆形气缸发动机。这种发动机为水冷,V型夹角90°,4缸,总排量为748mL,铝质机体,椭圆形气缸。椭圆形气缸有长轴(长)和短轴(宽)2个缸径尺寸,分别为101.2mm和50.6mm。为计算方便,缸径和行程折算为75.3mm和42mm。本田公司把这种气缸和活塞的形状称为“具有连续变化曲率的标准椭圆包络线”形。可是,装在摩托赛车上的发动机中椭圆形气缸和活塞的形状是由2条直线与2个圆相外切而成的封闭曲线,封闭曲线的短轴与圆直径相等。在实际生产机型中,短轴位于长轴的中间处,短轴是最宽的部分。本田公司把这种气缸和活塞的几何形状称为UFO。
Honda Motor Co. recently introduced an oval-shaped cylinder engine for NR motor racing in order to strengthen its competitiveness in motor racing. This engine is water-cooled, V-shaped angle of 90 °, 4-cylinder, the total displacement of 748mL, aluminum body, oval cylinder. Oval cylinder has a long axis (long) and short axis (wide) 2 bore size, respectively 101.2mm and 50.6mm. For calculation convenience, bore and stroke conversion is 75.3mm and 42mm. Honda refers to this cylinder and piston shape as a “standard elliptical envelope with continuously varying curvature.” However, the shape of the oval cylinder and piston in the engine mounted on a motor racing car is a closed curve formed by two straight lines and two outer circular phases, and the minor axis of the closed curve is equal to the diameter of the circle. In the actual production model, the short axis is located in the middle of the long axis, the short axis is the widest part. Honda company called the cylinder and piston geometry UFO.
