Objective: To investigate the clinical manifestations and prognosis of DIC-like syndrome caused by Viper bites in northern China. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 97 cases of Viper bites from 2010-06 to 2011-09 in our hospital. Nine cases diagnosed as DIC-like syndrome were analyzed for platelet count and coagulation index D-dimer Body, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, plasma fibrinogen and thrombin time detection and analysis. Results: The incidence of DIC-like syndrome in the northern region after viper snake bite was 9.3%. There were no clinical manifestations of DIC in 9 patients with DIC within 1 to 8 days after injury. The duration of DIC was about 2 to 7 days. Conclusion: Viper bites in northern China may cause abnormal coagulation and fibrinolysis in patients with DIC-like syndrome.
