西部大开发是对西部经济的大开发,也是对西部文化的大开发。本文从雕塑立言,一方面在于,西部十省区孕育了无比丰富的雕塑资源,尤其是古代雕塑总量占全国64.3％以上。这些雕塑在中华文化艺术发展史中的地位不言自明。另一方面,开发西部雕塑是凝聚西部人民精神力量的重要手段,是创造西部新的经济增长点的需要,具有历史和现实双重意义。
The great development of the western region is a major development of the economy in the western part of the country and also a great development of the western culture. This article from the standpoint of sculpture, on the one hand, is that the western provinces and autonomous regions gave birth to incomparably rich sculpture resources, in particular, the ancient sculpture accounted for more than 64.3% of the total.
