Objective: To investigate and analyze the malignant tumor deaths of workers engaged in petrochemical operations. Methods: The data were provided by the personnel department of the petrochemical plant. The cause of death was classified according to ICD-9. The standardized mortality was calculated according to the second national census data from 1964. Cases were diagnosed as primary and secondary diseases. Results: The annual average mortality rate of various causes of death in this factory was 156.58 per 100 000 in 21 years, among which malignant tumors occupied the first place in the total cause of death. Mortality of malignant tumors increased with age, malignant tumor mortality rates of different ethnic groups. Different (χ2=6.67, P<0.05). Conclusion: The leukemia mortality rate of workers in petrochemical plants exceeds that of the reference population, and its SMR = 151, P < 0.01, indicating that the risk of leukemia is higher among workers in this factory.
