从1955年至1956年,我调查了印度加罗人、卡西人和纳亚尔人的3个类型的母系制度。加罗人与卡西人都是分别居住在印度东北邻近阿萨姆地方的加罗山区和卡西山区的少数民族。从语言上看,加罗人属藏缅语系,卡西人属于南亚语系;从经济上看,加罗人以种植稻谷、棉花等为主的粗放农耕为生,而卡西人则主要依赖于马铃薯和粟类等的耕种。然而,与拥有原始经济机制的加罗人和卡西人相对,纳亚尔人则属于南印度喀拉拉邦上层印度教信奉
From 1955 to 1956, I investigated three types of matrilineal systems of the Indian, Cassidy and Nayar. Both the Garos and the Castes are ethnic minorities living in the Garo and Kassi mountains northeast of India near Assam. From a linguistic point of view, the Carlo people belong to the Tibeto-Burman language family, and the Kasi people belong to the South Asian language family. Economically, the Garro people depend on extensive farming mainly for planting rice and cotton, while the Kassi people rely mainly on Potato and millet cultivation. However, as opposed to the Garro and Castes, which have the original economic mechanism, the Nayers belong to the upper Hindu faith in Kerala, South India
