人物素描1967年,朱敏毕业于宁波一中,随后到农村插队。1977年进入浙江农业大学拖拉机设计与制造专业,1981年从浙江农业大学毕业,被分配到宁波冰箱厂,1982年考入浙江大学工业管理系读研究生,1984年以浙大管理系第一名的成绩考取美国斯坦福大学,就读工程经济系统专业。多年来,朱敏一直致力于推动互联网实时互动、音频视频数据通讯技术、软件生产工业化技术等的发展,被美国媒体和硅谷业界誉为“未来技术预言家”。1996年,朱敏创建了WebEx(网讯)公司。2003年,WebEx被福布斯评为五年中成长最快的25家IT公司之一。WebEx的技术被IT析家称为“彻底改变了我们的通讯观念”的技术。2000年7月,WebEx(网讯)公司在纳斯达克(NASDAQ)成功上市,当时市值达十几亿美元。自2001年至2004年,朱敏出任美国华源科技协会的董事,该协会由旅美的著名华裔企业家、科学家组成。2004年,朱敏被美国加州大学聘为“科学与技术发展委员会”委员。该委员会由美国教育界及工业界杰出人士组成,包括三名诺贝尔奖得主。同时,朱敏还是美国最大风险投资公司之一NEA公司的合伙人。该公司管理着60亿美元的资金,到目前为止已投资了500多家高科技公司,所投资公司中已上市公司的总资产超过1000亿美元。同年,朱敏受邀加入全国青联留学人员联谊会,并作为美国硅谷华人的杰出代表被推荐为副会长。2006年1月,朱敏投资Gtel,成为该公司董事长。

From 2001 to 2004, Zhu Min served as a director of the Huayuan Science and Technology Association of the United States, which is composed of famous Chinese entrepreneurs and scientists from the United States. In 2004, Zhu Min was hired by the University of California, “Science and Technology Development Committee” member. The committee is comprised of prominent members of the U.S. education industry and industry, including three Nobel laureates. Meanwhile, Zhu Min is also a partner of NEA, one of the largest venture capital firms in the United States.
