亚里士多德《诗学》提到戏剧三要素包括发现、反转和灾难。结合《欲望号街车》文本,笔者从发现之前提、过程、后果三个方面论述了“发现”是情节中关键的因素。发现为反转和灾难铺陈起因,助推情节的发展乃至高潮,更好达成悲剧效果。灾难在发现的过程中累积、爆发,布兰奇的灾难让人产生怜悯和恐惧,最终完成悲剧使命。因此,“发现”确系戏剧情节重要的因素。若无发现存在,反转和灾难很难成立,悲剧失去应有的震撼力。
Aristotle’s Poetics mentions three elements of drama: discovery, reversal, and disaster. Combined with the text of “A Streetcar Named Desire,” the author discusses the “discovery” from the three aspects of precondition, process and consequence of discovery, which are the key factors in the plot. They found that the cause of reversal and disasters lay the cause, boosted the development and even climax of the plot, and better achieved the tragedy effect. Disasters accumulated in the process of discovery, broke out, Blanche’s disaster gives rise to compassion and fear, and ultimately completed the tragedy mission. Therefore, “Discovery ” is an important factor in the dramatic plot. If nothing is found, reversals and disasters are hard to set up and the tragedy loses its power.
