Diabetic patients have severe crystalline opacities for vitrectomy with many difficulties. Crystal removal is often necessary. Simultaneous implantation of intraocular lenses will cause further problems, many of which remain unresolved. In this paper, 6 cases of proliferative diabetic retinopathy were reported for extracapsular cataract extraction, vitrectomy and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. Patients were selected according to the following criteria: diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and associated comorbidities, but not severe, requiring no complicated surgery and prolonged operative time;
