亲爱的中国聋人朋友:你们好!我叫孟乐岚(英文名是Laurel Anstead),是来自美国的聋人教师。我和你们许多聋人一样,一出生就听不见,从小我在父母、兄弟及老师的教导下,克服重重困难,进行一系列的听觉训练,使我在学前打下了较好的语言基础。我从上小学时就与健全孩子一起学习,一直到上大学、攻读硕士学位,始终如此,并取得了较好的成绩。如今,我不仅精通英语,而且还掌握了汉语的书面语及口语,可借你们听不到我讲的中国话,我的中国朋友常常夸我快成“中国通”了。今年我有幸再来中国留学,我想借此机会,向你们透露一下我成功的秘诀,让你们同我一起分享我取得成功的喜悦。
Dear deaf friends in China: Hello, my name is Meng Lelan (English name is Laurel Anstead), is a deaf teacher from the United States. Like many of you, deaf, I, just as I was born, have not been able to hear when I was born. Since I was a child, I have overcome a great deal of difficulty by teaching my parents, brothers and teachers and have conducted a series of listening trainings so that I have laid a good foundation for my studies. From the elementary school, I studied with healthy children until I went to college and studied for a master’s degree, and always achieved good results. Today, I am not only proficient in English but also master Chinese written and spoken Chinese so that I can not hear the Chinese I speak. My Chinese friends often praise me as “China.” This year I was lucky enough to study in China again. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the secret of my success and let you share with me the joy of success.
