综述了面向新世纪加强少数民族术语工作的紧迫性和藏语术语工作所取得的经验和成果；论述了藏语在传统上创制新词术语的三条途径──利旧、创新和借用；介绍了藏语参照汉语科技术语加以仿译时所采取的几种常用的方式。
Summarizes the urgency of strengthening the work of minority nationalities in the new century and the experiences and achievements made in Tibetan terminology work; discusses the three ways in which Tibetan has traditionally created new terminologies ─ ─ obsolescence, innovation and borrowing; Several commonly used methods adopted by Tibetan in reference to Chinese scientific and technical terms to be imitated and translated.
