Yellow Crane Tower is said to have been built during the Three Kingdoms period. It has been repeatedly destroyed and built in various forms. The forms of the Yellow Crane Tower since the Ming and Qing Dynasties were basically similar. The image data handed down include the Yellow Crane Tower map of the Song Dynasty, the old illustrations of Mingqing County, and the physical photos of the Qing Dynasty. The latter is known to the people of Hubei Province. The last floor of the Qing Dynasty was destroyed in 1884. In this reconstruction, planning and program design began in 1978, and the main project was completed in 1985. Today, it is still under construction. The reconstruction project covers an area of 260 mu. Apart from Yellow Crane Tower, it also includes other landscape architecture and tourism service facilities. The total built-up area of the building is more than 20,000 square meters. The rebuilt Yellow Crane Tower is located at the western part of the Wuchang Snake, about 1 km away from the Yangtze River, and it is much more backward than the original site. The exterior of the new building is modeled on the floor of a clean house, maintaining the physical characteristics and local style details of “Sharon’s upright and its shape like bamboo shoots”, but the three layers are changed into five layers, and recreating it to make the momentum even more magnificent. The legacy of the ancient building was even more innovative and time-honored, and it was highly appreciated and loved by the local people. The new building is 51.4 meters high, with a total of five floors and a building area of 4,000 square meters. The halls at each floor of the building are based on the themes of “Mythology, History, Humanities, Traditions, and Philosophy”. They draw murals and furnishings to make the new building not only accessible but also a museum to display the history and culture of the Yellow Crane Tower.
