在将军戈壁北部边缘,距新疆奇台县城153公里处,有一片神奇的土地。这,就是石树沟。它是整个准东化石走廊中的杰出代表,令世界瞩目。人们发现这些古树化石,是70年代的事,之后不断有专家、学者前来考察。1985年8月,新疆林业科学院等单位联合在此踏勘并将其公布于世。1994年6月至1995年4月,国家旅游局先后两次来人考察,认为此地极具旅游开发价值,于是拨付专款34万元,于1996年6月建成了“奇台硅化木园”。从此,人们纷至踏来的脚步打破了这里延续了亿万年的寂静。
In the northern edge of the general Gobi, 153 kilometers away from the Qitai County in Xinjiang, there is a magical land. This is the stone tree ditch. It is an outstanding representative of the entire quasi-eastern fossil corridor, attracting world attention. People found that these ancient fossils, is the 70’s thing, after continuous experts and scholars came to visit. In 1985 August, Xinjiang Academy of Forestry and other units jointly reconnoitred here and announced it in the world. June 1994 to April 1995, the National Tourism Administration has come to visit twice that this place is very tourism development value, then allocated 340,000 yuan earmarked in June 1996 built a “Qitai silicified Wood Park ”. Since then, the pace of people have come here to break the continuation of hundreds of millions of years of silence.
