俳句是日本民族特有的文学形式,有中国文学影响的痕迹又能自成气象。篇幅短小,却短而精、小而悍,能在出入有无之间创造出某种特殊的境界,“表现日本人民在其美丽的自然环境中生活所产生的心灵感受,已经成为日本文化的精华”。本文试图从“小”字入手,来论述俳句这种艺术形式是如何在短短数语之中见出高妙境界的。
