近些年举办书市的事情多起来,但所陈列的大体是新书,而新书售价一再猛涨,已非真爱看书和真需用书者所易承受。直到去年9月10日北京中国书店在琉璃厂举办书市,我才破例去了一次。因为这里除新印古书文史书外还有大量的线装书和民国以来的铅印旧书,而且是直接从仓库里拿出来并未在门市架上陈列过。自然时间上也凑巧,正逢我出席一个在北京召开的古籍编印会议,会议则在10日下午才报到。于是约了宋平生、辛德勇、韩茂莉夫妇,三位都是我旧日学生,再有一位是相熟的版本老专家沈燮元
