◎ wheeled medium armored vehicles have become mainstream In the past 10 years, the size and structure of the European military have undergone a fundamental change. They have transformed themselves into smaller and more balanced armed forces from heavy armies, primarily capable of large-scale defensive or offensive operations. For example, the Dutch army has been transformed into a force consisting of 1 air surprise brigade and 2 heavy brigade units; and the troops of other countries are also being transformed into military forces composed of light, medium and heavy unit units. The dramatic restructuring of the European armed forces over the past decade has had a profound impact on the development and purchase of European armored combat vehicles. Light armies are typically formed by airborne forces, special forces units and light infantry. These forces used to be generally not equipped with Armored Combat Vehicles (AFVs), although there are sometimes exceptions. Germany, for example, has for many years provided its own troops with 345 units of the Rheinmetall Land Systems (RLS)
