进入九十年代,中宁县委、政府紧紧抓住改革开放机遇,把大力发展个体私营经济作为全县经济发展的增长点,采取一系列优惠政策和措施,千方百计上项目,扩大规模求发展,使全县个体私营经济从小到大、从弱到强,连续上了几个台阶。截至目前,全县共有个体企业4929个,私营企业149家,其中:百万元以上的52家,300万元以上的26家,1000万元以上的11家,亿元以上的2家;1998年完成产值7.76亿元,实现利润4450万元,上缴税金1210万元;从业人员达6853人,其中党员236人,占从业人员的3.6%
