In October 1948, the cool breeze of Changchun in the late autumn began to fall, the trees withered, the leaves bleak, and the city’s 100,000 enemy troops were besieged nearly seven months. At this time, the remains of General Yang Jingyu, an anti-Japanese national hero, remained in the isolated city and became an important goal sought by underground workers of our party. Yang Jingyu is a famous anti-Japanese national hero. At noon on February 23, 1940, Yang Jingyu, armed with a double-gun, was surrounded by enemies in the three jungle of Mengjiang County, Changbai Mountain. Cruel enemies cut his belly, the stomach in addition to the undigested bark, grass roots, cotton, not even a grain of food. The enemy was stunned and scared. Communists were really hard-working tough guys who were hungry like this. They did not surrender. The enemy inhumanely cut his head with a trowel and took a large number of photographs and scattered it to the areas where the fighting was fought and some neighborhoods. The Japanese invaders also took General Motors’ head of General Yang Jingyu in the area where Yang Jingyu had fought.
