On May 10, 2016, the Local History Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province signed a letter of intent on strategic cooperation with South China Normal University, and both parties jointly worked together to build a local history research center in southern China. Wen Zhixiang, director of Provincial Department of Local Organizational Affairs, and Zhu Kongjun, party secretary of South China Normal University, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties respectively. Chen Honghai, member of the provincial party committee and director of the provincial party committee and deputy director of the department, and Chen Wenhai, dean of the School of History and Culture of South China Normal University attended the meeting signing ceremony.
