高中时由于偏爱文科,我的数学成绩一直很差,高考时终于得到“报应”:尽管其他5门考得都不错,语文还获得了令周围人称奇的高分,但数学却考得一塌糊涂拖了后腿,加起来总分仅超过中专的录取线。这也许对城里的孩子来说并不算什么,但对于土生土长在陕西偏僻农村的我来说,却是一次命运的转机。尽管心中充满着不尽的遗憾,也曾想过复读重考,但我终于没能扛过父母亲友的压力(他们总是用疲惫的眼睛默默地告诉我:“娃还想咋的?”)。我只好于1992年9月南下长沙去读中专。在南下的火车上,我在笔记本上写下这样一句话:“仗剑走天涯！”
