眼部无明显器质性病变,矫正视力低于0.9者称为弱视。若不能及时发现治疗,必将严重影响儿童双眼视觉功能的发育。弱视若不能及时被发现和治疗,拖延时间越长,视力就越难恢复,12岁以后则基本无治愈希望。所以,一旦失去治疗时机,低下的视力将是终身的。弱视危害性严重,却没有什么痛苦的症状,除了部分儿童斜视外,大多数外表看起来与正常人一样。另外,幼小的孩子也不会表达自己的困难与不适。所以,弱视的早期诊断全靠家长、幼教人员的细心观察和及时就医。家长应从小就注意孩子有无不会看东西等视力差的表现,最好在2～3岁时教会孩子查视力。若发现有异常,应及时到医院就诊。医院经过眼部常规检查,首先排除器质性眼病,拟诊弱视者应散瞳验光,了解双眼的屈光状态,必要时配戴合适的矫正眼镜。
