通过对苧麻单宁物质的分布,单宁物质的形成过程和理化特性,单宁物质产生的根源和作用,以及形成锈脚的条件和消除方法等观察和试验,发现在苧麻中单宁物质分布极广泛,在不同品种中单宁含量不相同。单宁物质的产生与光照和麻株生长速度相关。单宁物质的形成对提高麻株抗病虫、抗寒抗旱能力起着重要作用。试验证明,由于麻株体内含有无机铁和有机铁,收麻时虽用非铁质的器械加工剥制原麻,均不能使原麻的锈脚有明显的减少。
