In late November 1979, 23 representatives of teachers’ colleges and teachers’ associations and higher education associations gathered at the Jiangsu Teachers College (now Suzhou University) and held a seminar on the preparation of teaching materials for the “secondary school physics textbook teaching method” for teachers’ colleges. During the period, the delegates jointly proposed the intention of setting up a “learning seminar for middle school physics teaching.” In July 1980, the teaching material of “High School Physics Teaching Method” edited by Professor Xu Guoliang was reviewed.
