职业中专教育作为高等教育的重要组成部分,为国家培养了大量中等专业技术人才,随着高校的普及和扩招,职业中专的社会地位日趋下滑,其教育教学作用逐渐被弱化,导致职业中专英语教学的发展日益滞后,面临着前所未有的教学困难,境况不容乐观。如何尽快走出职业中专英语教学困境,是当前教育改革的重要课题,造成职业中专英语教学困境的原因是多方面的。作者就针对职业中专的生源素质、英语教材、教师水平、学校态度等因素,结合自身的教学实践经验对职业中专英语教学的困境进行了阐述。
Vocational secondary education as an important part of higher education for the country trained a large number of secondary professional and technical personnel, with the popularization and expansion of colleges and universities, occupational secondary vocational school’s social status is declining, and its role in education and teaching is gradually weakened, leading to occupation The development of English teaching is increasingly lagging behind, facing unprecedented teaching difficulties, the situation is not optimistic. How to get out of the plight of English teaching in vocational schools as soon as possible is an important issue in current education reform. There are many reasons for the difficulties in teaching English in vocational schools. Based on such factors as the quality of students in secondary vocational schools, English teaching materials, teachers’ level and school attitudes, the author elaborates the predicament of English teaching in vocational secondary schools based on their teaching experience.
