从文体形式上说,传奇小说蹈袭了史传的叙事传统,它把史传的叙事体式和方法运用到传奇文的写作中,并始终与史传保持着紧密联系。从文学观念上说,传奇小说无论是唐人小说,还是宋元话本体传奇,或者清代笔记体传奇,严格地说,都是传统笔记小说之外的文体,代表的是非正统的小说观念。史传文体与非正统的小说观念的融合,不仅创造了传奇小说文体,而且也带动了中国小说观念的拓展和更新。
From the stylistic point of view, the legendary novel follows the historical narrative tradition. It applies the narrative style and method of historical biography to the writing of legendary prose. It has always maintained close contact with the historiography. From a literary point of view, legendary novels are both non-orthodox fiction novels, novels of the Tang Dynasty or the legend of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, or the legends of the Qing Dynasty. Strictly speaking, these novels are beyond the traditional novels of novels. The combination of historical biography and non-orthodox novels has not only created the legendary novel style, but also promoted the development and renewal of the Chinese novel idea.
