Through the investigation of the use of English teaching materials in many local vocational colleges, it is found that there are some problems in using the teaching materials in higher vocational colleges at present: the types of teaching materials are single, and 64% of the schools surveyed use “Growth English” (Chongqing University Press); 62% of schools think the teaching materials are inferior to those of secondary English and vocational English; 55% of schools evaluate the adaptability of the materials used
