小麦全蚀病1975年于我区发现,最先传入良种场、试验站等引种供种单位。经过1976、1977年的普查,已知分布在哈密、伊吾等22个县及伊宁市。起初有人认为新疆和山东自然条件不一样,全蚀病发展不起来,但近几年在湿度较大,连作时间长的伊犁地区猖獗为害。1978年发病面积60万亩,平均发病率23%,重病田达70～80%,损失粮食1200—1500万斤。
